This Philips Avent Electric Breastpump work system uses 2 phase expression.
Two phase expression is 2 phases/rhythm pumping beats, fast and short initial beats to stimulate and second beats slow and deep to flush. This two phase expression is mimicking the rhythm of the baby when breastfeeding directly to the mother.
The funnel is equipped with silicone pads to make the pumping process more comfortable for mom.
Nevertheless, this Breastpump can still use the old type of avent wideneck bottle and also Avent storage cup.
There are several differences between this type of natural pump and the previous type of Avent breast milk pump, among others:
Funnel shape with a steeper slope, it is expected that this design allows mother to pump not by bending forward.
Between the unit motor and the funnel is connected with the hose (the previous model motor unit is attached to the funnel).
Equipped with natural type bottles and nipples.
There are 4 control buttons located above the unit motor, namely ON/OFF, Phase 1, Phase 2 Lemah, Phase 2 Intermediate, and Phase 2 Strong. The bottom can be opened to be installed 4 AA batteries.
